10.27.10 Proberbs 27:19 –
Proverbs Post #7-
Today I was reading in chapter 27, and verse 19 struck me today. It says:
27:19 As in water the face is reflected as a face,
so a person’s heart reflects the person.
Wow! This is a challenging verse. One of the challenges for us is whether or not we are putting forth effort for our own interests or God’s interests. I struggle on a daily basis with making sure everything I do is making a difference for the kingdom.
Colossians 3:1-3 deal directly with this struggle. “3:1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 3:2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, 3:3 for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Are you reflecting your will or God’s will?
I want to challenge you to take up reading the Proverb of the day and the entire chapter as well. Lord, please help each one of us to keep our focus on things above and not the things of this earth. Amen.
